My Student Support Program (My SSP) is a free, 24/

My Student Support Program (My SSP) is a free, 24/7 confidential support program available to all International Students. My SSP provides free access to confidential counseling services, as well as a variety of wellbeing resources.

Real-time support is available by phone and live chat (no appointment needed!), and students may also schedule video appointments. My SSP counselors are available who speak Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, French, and English. For other language preferences, students may request an appointment with a counselor who speaks their preferred language depending on availability.

International students can connect with MySSP by downloading the “My SSP” app from their device’s app store, calling 1-866-743-7732 (US calls) or 001-416-380-6579 (international calls), or by visiting us.myissp.com. International calling charges will apply unless you either call via Wi-Fi, or opt to “call collect” by finding the collect call service for the country in which you are located, and request to make a collect call to 001-416-380-6579. My SSP will accept the collect call charges.

We want to hear from you! Students who utilized SCN services during the spring 2023 semester were emailed a survey on 4/25. Three students who complete the survey will be randomly selected to win one of the following prizes courtesy of our partnership with VSG: JBL portable speaker, KODAK instant print camera, or an Echo Dot.

This giveaway is run by the Student Care Network at Vanderbilt and is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram. You must be a currently enrolled Vanderbilt student (including students graduating in May 2023). The survey will be open until May 31.

PICKUP

• Winners will be contacted via their Vanderbilt email address in early June.

• If a winner graduates in May 2023 they will be mailed their prize (domestic only).

• If a winner is a continuing student, their prize will be held either at the campus post office or a Sarratt/Rand office for pickup in the fall semester.

Vanderbilt Telehealth by AcademicLiveCare (VTALC)

Vanderbilt Telehealth by AcademicLiveCare (VTALC) is a telehealth platform that will allow you to attend behavioral and physical health appointments on a smartphone, computer, or another mobile device, free of charge.

VTALC offers ongoing appointments with licensed psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists, or other providers to help with life’s challenges. Additional VTALC services include physical health, nutrition counseling and lactation consultations.

Get started today by following the instructions at vanderbi.lt/selfhelptools (also linked in bio).

*VTALC is intended to supplement Student Care Network services. You should continue to utilize the Student Health Center for primary physical health care. VTALC should not be used in the case of an emergency or for urgent care needs. The University Counseling Center offers Urgent Care Counseling as well by calling (615) 322-2571 (press #2 if you need to speak with a counselor after-hours).

The Student Care Network supports the holistic wellbeing of students and recognizes that the cost of medical and/or mental health care can be a significant barrier to seeking care and thriving as a student. The Student Care Assistance Program supports the immediate needs of students experiencing a financial hardship related to health care expenses that poses significant risks to their educational success. Your gift will help us address unexpected health care expenses for active undergraduate, graduate, and professional students with demonstrated financial need.

Headspace is a mindfulness tool that has been shown to reduce stress, improve focus, and increase resilience and happiness. Vanderbilt students can create a free account (link in bio).

Bettersleep is another tool for mindfulness and sleep. While there is a paid version of this app, the free version still has a number of features that you can utilize.
