Public Health Operations

Public Health Operations in Health and Wellness encompasses the Vanderbilt Public Health Central Command Center (Command Center) and the Women’s Health and Parenting Resource Coordinator.

The Command Center is a collaboration between the Nurse Faculty Practice Division in the School of Nursing, Division of Administration, Office of the Provost, Vanderbilt Student Health Center (SHC) and Vanderbilt Occupational Health Center (OHC). The Command Center provides support for COVID-19 positive and close contact individuals, COVID-19 contact tracing and contact notifications, coordination of symptomatic testing entities and free at-home test kit availability, COVID-19 vaccination records intake, and coordination of COVID-19 booster clinics to ensure timely coordination to protect and support the health and safety of the campus and Nashville community. More information on the Command Center can be found on the COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols page.

The Women’s Health and Parenting Resource Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for pregnant individuals and parents at the university who need assistance and support—engaging in unbiased conversations and helping coordinate care through campus offices and resources. This is a new role that will be established soon.  More information can be found on the Reproductive Health Task Force site.
