3. LAWYER LOOKING FOR EXPERT WITNESS HELP FOR CLIENT FROM SAN MARCOS

Subject: Seeking experts on San Marcos

I recently spoke with a lawyer who is representing several clients from San Marcos, specifically a village in Tajumulco. She is hoping to get in touch with academics who have done field research in that area, or anywhere nearby in San Marcos or Huehuetenango. Please reply to me if you might be willing to help this lawyer understand the region (or if you can suggest someone familiar with this area). Thanks!

5. BLOG POST ON CHILD BRIDES AND MOTHERS IN GUATEMALA FROM YOUTH CIRCULATIONS

Www.YouthCirculations.com<http://Www.YouthCirculations.com> is honored to announce our latest blog post, a fascinating conversation between anthropology student Briana Nichols and occupational science student Lisette Farias entitled: "Notes from the field: Humanitarian discourses, systemic erasures, and the production of victimhood in 'Child, Bride, Mother.’” The authors argue that representations of child marriage and teen motherhood in Guatemala  are problematic not just for what they supposedly expose, but for what they naturalize and hide.  We invite you to take a look: http://www.youthcirculations.com/blog/
