This study center program is based in a vibrant neighborhood of Pune, a cultural capital and Hindu pilgrimage center a couple hours' drive from the coastal megacity of Mumbai. Students investigate pressing issues facing Indian society through core and elective courses, excursions, and a month-long field component including an intensive internship, directed research, or documentary filmmaking opportunity. Electives include Hindi language as well as courses focusing on public health, entrepreneurship, development economics, social justice, gender in media, and more. Students live in homestays with local families, and can expect to take rickshaws, walk, or bike to the program center.
