At this study center program, students immerse themselves in New Delhi, India’s central hub for policymakers and organizations, examining the relationships between public health, gender, and sexuality. The program is very experiential, incorporating visits to local organizations, travel outside of Delhi, and other excursions. Students have the opportunity to understand how women and sexual minorities are alternately mainstreamed and marginalized in reproductive and sexual health settings, and will have access to SIT’s longstanding network of institutions and public health officials engaged in national and international decision-making, policy development, and healthcare delivery. Students will live with a host family in New Delhi, and a range of other accommodations while on excursion to numerous other regions of India. Choose between an independent research project or an internship, where students get the opportunity to cater their experience specifically to their interests for the final month of the program.
