At this study center program, students immerse themselves in New Delhi, India’s central hub for policymakers and organizations, examining the relationship between public health, gender, and community. The program is very experiential, incorporating visits to local organizations, travel outside of Delhi, and other excursions. Students will spend extensive time in under-resourced communities to understand inclusion and access to healthcare, focusing especially on reproductive and children’s health, but will also work visit and work with health and advocacy organizations as well as make a comparative trip outside of India. Students will live with a host family in New Delhi, and a range of other accommodations while on excursion. This research-based experience includes an independent study project, where students get the opportunity to cater their experience specifically to their interests as they pursue their own research for the final month of the program.
