On this Program, facilitated by SIT, and located in Durban, South Africa, you will examine cultural views on health, and how both wealth and education and the state, and NGO’s influence access to and acceptance of public health services and outcomes. In Addition, you will get to travel to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Pretoria, South Africa, and tour the Constitutional Court Precinct, the Voortrekker Monument, Freedom Park and ride along the Crocodile River. Courses are administered in English and students will study and learn to speak the native language of isiZulu. Furthermore, as a requirement of the program, you will live and experience several different types of homestays; an urban homestay in Durban, and three rural homestays in Umthwlume, Nzinga, and Sananezwe. Once you finish your courses, you will have the option to do an independent study project on the topic of your choice or an internship.
