Ashkan Bahrani

Ashkan Bahrani is a Ph.D. student in History and Critical Theories of Religion. He earned an MA in Islamic Philosophy and Theology from Shiraz University (2009). Having published both original research on Comparative mysticism, and works of translation from English into Persian, including Vincent Brummer’s What Are We Doing When We Pray and Ahmet Karamustafa’s Sufism: the Formative Period, his main research interest includes Sufi Studies and his academic interests consist of history of Sufi ideas as well as major critical theories of religion. He is interested in contemporary Islamic thought, Middle Eastern Studies, and Christian Theological Studies.
