Flood Relief Fund Applications Available
During the past two months, many employees and friends of Vanderbilt University have generously contributed to a special fund for victims of the May flood who are also employees of Vanderbilt. A process for distributing those funds to the employees most in need of financial support has been developed, and awards are targeted to be issued in August.
Those eligible to apply for support must have been employed at Vanderbilt on May 1, 2010, have sustained significant flood damage, be currently employed at Vanderbilt in a regular or term (not temporary) position, and be in a regular or term position at the time of award. Because the funds available are limited, and the needs are great, the awards will necessarily be modest in size.
Applications for support are available in pdf format. Paper copies will also be available at several Human Resources offices which will also serve as drop off points for completed applications (HR Express, 2525 West End Ave. Suite 218; HR @ Children’s Hospital, Suite 2525 VCH; HR @ One Hundred Oaks, Suite 26192; HR @ Village at Vanderbilt, Suite 1516) or in the HR Processing/Payroll Office (975 Baker Building). Applications for support must be received by July 15, 2010.
You can still make a tax deductible donation to the Vanderbilt Flood Relief Fund. The needs of flood victims are on-going and continued contributions to this fund will provide much-needed assistance. It is hoped that donations will continue to arrive, so that more support can be provided.
