Financial Aid Checklist

Things to do (checklist):

CheckList for 2024-25 aid year will be available Mid-October 2023.

If you need to submit items to your 2023-2024 checklist, please visit MyAppVU.

  1. File the CSS PROFILE Application. Available October 1, 2023
  2. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
    Available January 1, 2024
  3. Submit copies of your and your parents' 2022 tax information via MyAppVU. Please include all tax forms, all Schedules, and all W2s. Not including the needed tax documents could delay your financial aid package.

For Freshmen/Transfers:

Finish your Financial Aid Checklist by clicking the links next to each item.

If a form asks for Parent info, the student must initiate the form.

  • Add your Parent's name, email, and sign the form.
  • Hit "Submit."

After you submit the form, an email will be sent to the parent's email address you provided.

  • The parent will set up a Dynamic Forms account and fill out the form.

Check Vanderbilt's website for form submission assistance.

DO NOT SEND TAX RETURN DOCUMENTS TO OUR OFFICE.

For Returning students:

Returning Undergraduate students will submit tax documents through Dynamic Forms via the following process:
  • In your YES Financial Aid Checklist for parent and/or student tax document checklist items, click on the information bubble Bubble_i to access the submission link.
  • Please include all tax forms, all Schedules, and all W2s. Not including the needed tax documents could delay your financial aid package.
    • If you did not file a 2022 tax return you must complete the tax document and select the non-Filer option.
  • For parent tax documents, the student will initiate submission by logging into Dynamic Forms and providing a parent name and email address. The parent will then receive an email at the provided address to complete the submission.
  • Complete FAFSA

  • Complete CSS Profile

Things to remember:

  • TENNESSEE RESIDENTS: We recommend you file the FAFSA as soon as it becomes available to be considered for State of Tennessee grant and scholarship assistance. The FAFSA must also be submitted for renewal of the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship.
  • Financial aid will not be credited to your student account until we have reviewed the tax information submitted via your checklist.
  • We reserve the right to request additional information, as necessary, to document your eligibility for financial assistance. Any delay in responding to such a request will cause a delay in the processing of your financial aid.
