Visitor Information

The Office of Federal Relations welcomes members of the Vanderbilt community to visit our facilities in Washington, D.C. In addition to housing the Federal Relations workplace, the office provides a home base for members of Vanderbilt University's faculty and staff who find themselves in the nation’s capital for conferences, research, and other outreach activities. Please notify us by emailing holly.alexander@vanderbilt.edu if you plan to visit the office, and we can provide you with a private office or conference room and information on other services available.

Directions

Location

Our office is on Capitol Hill, next to Union Station. We are also close to the U.S. Capitol, congressional offices, U.S. Supreme Court, Library of Congress, several federal departments and agencies, and the headquarters of numerous policy groups and other non-governmental organizations. Other key locations in Washington, D.C., are a short ride by cab or Metro (subway). We are located in the headquarters of the American Psychological Association, 750 First Street, N.E., Suite 1110.

Metro (Subway)

Use this Metro Trip Planner to plan your trip. From downtown Washington, D.C., take the Red Line in the direction of Silver Spring/Glenmont and get off at Union Station.

Cabs/Ride Shares

Give the cab driver our address, emphasizing NORTHEAST. Tell the driver we are on the west side of Union Station, and just south of the CNN building. Many cab drivers opt to head northbound on North Capitol Street, then take a right on G Place to First Street, N.E.. That brings you directly to our building.

Parking

Metered parking is available along G Place (a one-way street that runs from North Capitol Street to First Street) and G Street on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is also available in the American Psychological Association's parking garage (First Street entrance). Visitors can park for up to 1 hour for $10, or from 2 to 24 hours for $20 (credit card only). The parking garage opens at 7am and closes at 7pm.
