Tuition, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts Resources
Investing in their future
Providing for college is one of the largest single investments a family will make, and we strongly believe that a Vanderbilt education is well worth the investment.
Student Accounts
Opportunity Vanderbilt
Opportunity Vanderbilt reflects our belief that a world-renowned education should be accessible to all qualified students regardless of their economic circumstances.
We make three important commitments to U.S. Citizens and eligible non-citizens to ensure that students from many different economic circumstances can enroll at Vanderbilt:
- Since talent and promise recognize no social, cultural, economic, or geographic boundaries, our admissions process is need-blind for U.S. Citizens and eligible non-citizens.
- Vanderbilt will meet 100% of a family’s demonstrated financial need.
- Financial aid awards do not include loans. Instead of offering need-based loans to undergraduate students, Vanderbilt offers additional grant assistance. This does not involve income bands or “cut-offs” that impact or limit eligibility.
More to explore
Experience Vanderbilt
Experience Vanderbilt (EV) is a student-led, university-supported initiative that provides undergraduate students who qualify for need-based financial aid with funding for extracurricular activities that have fees. These extracurricular activities include student organizations, club sports, arts and cultural experiences, service trips, outdoor recreation trips, Greek Life, or any official Vanderbilt student organization that has fees associated with participation.
Tuition Insurance
We believe it’s important to offer an easy, affordable way to protect the investment your family has made in higher education. For that reason, Vanderbilt University has teamed up with GradGuard to provide our students and families with tuition insurance featuring special plans and rates not available to the general public.
Adding Parents to Student Account
A Guarantor Authorization and Debt Repayment Agreement allows Vanderbilt University to release pertinent financial information to a parent or guardian. Without proper signatures from your student, no financial information can be disclosed to anyone other than the student. Your student can add you to their YES account so you will receive information about tuition payment.
STEPS FOR STUDENTS TO GIVE ACCESS TO PARENTS OR GUARDIANS
-
- Log into your YES landing page and click “Billing Portal.”
-
Click on “My Account” in the sidebar.
-
Click on “Send a Payer Invitation” and complete the information.
Once completed, the username and temporary password will be sent to your additional payer via email. Simply repeat this process to add more than one additional payer to your account.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (OSFA) is available to all students and families to discuss options for financial assistance. Your financial aid offer is for one academic year only; you must reapply for need-based financial aid each year. If you are not eligible for need-based aid this year, and your financial circumstances change, you may apply for aid in future years.
