Student Affairs Comms E-Newsletter [Vanderbilt University]

Friday, April 20, 2018

Dear PCC Colleagues,

Please see below for the most recent updates pertaining to the PCC-to-UCC transition. We continue to appreciate your facilitation of this transition process and value your ongoing feedback.

APA Self Study

  • With gratitude to Frances Niarhos and team, the APA self-study was completed.

Technology

  • In collaboration with the Process and Solution Implementations Team (PSI) and Adriana Kipper-Smith, PyarMED continues to build the future medical records and charting platform.

Medical Record Transfer

  • The student “notice and opt-out” period concluded on April 11th and the list of individuals choosing to opt out of the records transfer process was provided to the VUMC Health-IT transition team as well as to the VUMC privacy office.

The Office of Student Care Coordination

  • The phone number for the Office of Student Care Coordination will be 615-343-WELL (9355). The URL for the OSCC website will be www.vanderbilt.edu/carecoordination. (The phone number for the UCC will remain 615-322-2571.)

Student Care Network

  • Based on feedback from students, faculty, and staff, the “tag line” associated with the Student Care Network website will be “Your wellbeing. Your care.”
  • Student groups have been reviewing and providing feedback on the content of the Student Care Network website, which will be found at www.vanderbilt.edu/studentcarenetwork. We will also ask PCC staff to provide feedback once we have developed additional content.
  • Vice Provost Cyrus met with all campus wellness associate deans to provide an update on the PCC to UCC transition and to discuss the Student Care Network. Two slides were provided to the wellness deans: the first represents the stepped care model, and the second is a working graphic that will evolve to best represent Vanderbilt’s unique Student Care Network. You will receive these in a separate communication.

Long-term Planning

  • We are ensuring that the necessary changes are being made to the student Commodore Cards.
  • We are continuing to review transportation, video, and text-based options to facilitate treatment with off-campus community providers and are in discussions with Lyft and Uber.
  • Adriana Kipper-Smith provided PCC staff with confirmation of UCC professional liability insurance coverage.
  • The PCC Leadership Team is working in collaboration with Vice Provost Melissa Thomas-Hunt to develop diversity and inclusion trainings for the UCC.
  • With appreciation to those who provided feedback, the Welltrack pilot concluded.

Sincerely,

Mark Bandas
Associate Provost & Dean of Students
