Student Affairs Comms E-Newsletter [Vanderbilt University]

Dear PCC Colleagues,

Thank you for a thoughtful and productive staff meeting last week.  I am grateful for your feedback on the PCC to UCC transition.  I will continue to provide regular updates to you as the transition progresses.  Below, I’ve outlined several updates and other information that are relevant to this transition.

The Dean of Students website provides information about the mission statement, staff and organizational structure of DOS.

PCC Staff Communication

PCC Staff members have been added to the following Vanderbilt University communication portals:

  • InnerVU
  • DOS News

Student Communication

  • Met with representatives from Vanderbilt Student Government, the Graduate Student Council, and the professional schools to discuss the Student Care Network website
  • Met with student groups to look at naming conventions for the Student Care Network, Office of Student Care Coordination, etc.

Technology

  • Had conversations with VUMC colleagues regarding desktop computer and tablet computer transitions
  • Determined that the UCC will be assigned to VMDP computer support
  • Established the PyraMED Implementation Team (PCC representatives: Adriana Kipper-Smith, Melissa Porter, Brian Pollock)

Training Programs

  • Developed appointment process for doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows
  • Reviewed practicum student portfolio

Additionally, Associate Dean of Students Pat Helland has begun to meet with individual PCC staff members.  I will continue to keep you updated on this transition.  Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or feedback.
