Sandra Bancroft-Billings, Assistant Director

Sandra Bancroft-Billings has an MA in TESL from Gonzaga University where she taught ESL and taught and tutored multi-lingual law students. She recently earned her PhD in Language, Literacy, and Technology Education from Washington State University and joined Vanderbilt’s ELC in 2021. She is interested in vocabulary use in various contexts, particularly spoken vocabulary. Earlier, Sandra worked as a newspaper photographer, so she enjoys using visual elements to facilitate language learning. In her spare time, she likes to make decadent desserts and then find ways to work off the calories that result from making decadent desserts.
