About Tara Williams
Tara Williams is the chief of staff for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Tara holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management from Ashford University and a master’s degree from Vanderbilt’s Divinity School. She is responsible for the day-to-day management and business operations of the office and leads high-impact, high-visibility projects and initiatives for the Vice Chancellor. Prior to assuming the role of chief of staff, Williams was administrative manager in EDI, a program coordinator in the Office of the Chancellor and an administrative assistant in the African American & Diaspora Studies Department. She also serves as staff representative on the University Staff Advisory Council. Her other experience includes volunteering on the Metro Nashville Public Schools Diversity Plan Task Force and as president of multiple PTSOs.
