Whether you’re a seasoned DHer with a specific problem to troubleshoot, or a neophyte hoping to learn more about digital tools and methods relevant to your research, drop by the DH Center on a Thursday afternoon to talk with one of Vanderbilt’s resident experts in any of the following areas.

All levels of inquiry are welcome.

Learn more about managing your research digitally.  Areas of consultation include citation management systems, organizing digital files, using spreadsheets and databases, and more.

  • February 16         TECH A-TEAM

Talk about your project idea with a panel of consultants representing a broad range of technological support and computing at Vanderbilt.

  • February 23         Data Visualization & text analysis

  • March   2             “Tiny Data”   (not yet confirmed)

In contrast to “Big Data,” i.e. enormous data sets scaled for computational analysis, “Tiny Data” is data scaled for the qualitative, human-level analyses that characterize humanistic inquiry.  By quantifying qualitative observations, a Tiny Data approach supports the analysis of ambiguous, deeply nuanced, and non-linear sources.  Learn more about data-centered approaches to close reading.
