Roopika Risam at McGill University: Abolitionist Digital Pedagogies

Posted by on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in Events, uncategorized.

On Thursday, September 17, the McGill University Digital Humanities Initiatives presents the first talk in its Spectrums of DH virtual lecture series: “Abolitionist Digital Pedagogies: Beyond ‘Decolonizing’ the Classroom,” by Roopika Risam. Contact the organizers on facebook or email them at mcgill.digitalhumanities (at) gmail.com for a link to the live online event.

During and immediately after Risam’s talk, the Vanderbilt Digital Humanities Center will host a Slack channel chat for our regional community of interest to discuss the issues and strategies Risam raises and think about how we may address them on our own campuses. To join this conversation, sign up for the Digital Humanities Center Slack space here: https://join.slack.com/t/vucdh/signup . We’ll use the channel #abolitionist_digital_pedagogies for chat about this event. Email Mickey Casad (m.casad@vanderbilt.edu) if you run into questions.
