“It’s funny the things you learn about yourself when life gets flipped upside down. I have learned that I truly am a creature of habit and need routine throughout my day. I have been able to take over a corner of my dining room table as my home office. I still start my day with coffee and listening to NPR. That is the extent of what remains from my normal routine. I have been able to adjust some of my work functions via Zoom. I have been able to host prevention education programs, do classroom presentations for faculty, connect with some of my students, and participate in professional development opportunities. While I am eager to return to campus and see other staff, students, and faculty in person, I am quite sure that the remote access skills that I have learned in the past few weeks will continue to be useful when we return to a new normal and a new routine.”

“Three tips I am living by that are getting me through this quarantine and working from home; move, drink a lot of water, keep in touch. Move your body even if you walk to the mailbox. A little bit of movement can go a long way! Chug, chug, chug WATER!! It is so important to stay hydrated so try to be intentional about consuming more water in your day. Finally, keep in touch. You chat a lot with your friends and colleagues in the office so keep up that routine while working from home. We need social interaction to keep us sane (especially those who have children) and what better tool than setting up a Zoom call to get you through it.”
