Posted by on Thursday, August 1, 2013 in archives.

The new Director of the Office of LGBTQI Life Chris Purcell will arrive on August 12. While he comes to us from a broad-based position in student affairs at Berklee College in Boston, Chris also spent 3 years working as a program coordinator in the office of LGBT Life at Duke University. It was at Duke that he knew and worked with our own Krystal Clark. Chris earned a BS in Political Science and Public Administration from Western New England University, and an M.Ed in Higher Ed and Student Affairs Administration from the U of Vermont. Chris impressed campus partners during his job talk with the creativity of his programming, his energy, and his lack of a Boston accent. You can reach him by email. at Chris.purcell at vanderbilt.edu

Dr. Adale Sholock will begin September 3 as the new Director of the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center. She has run the U of West Chester (in PA) Women’s Center for the last 4.5 years. During that time she enlisted a number of male student leaders in a campus anti-violence campaign. She is eager to develop such a program on our campus and will be contacting your office for assistance in identifying key student leaders to involve in the MCWC programming. Adale earned her BA from Chatham University, her MA from the University of Tulsa, and her PhD from Binghamton University. Her area of expertise is English with a grad certificate in Women’s Studies. She has taught and published in the Women’s and Gender Studies area. She can be reached by email.

Please join me in welcoming these two new directors! Feel free to send them welcoming emails and know that these two professionals are confirmed collaborators.
