Call for artists: It’s a Scream! 2013

The Sarratt Gallery and Sarratt Art Studios at Vanderbilt University are pleased to announce a call for artists for the first annual exhibit “It’s A Scream – Images from Nightmares!”

Vanderbilt artists are invited to submit original works of art that reflect the exhibit’s theme of images from nightmares, fears, phobia, etc. Artists may also submit work that may be inspired by Dia de la Muertos.

Open to most mediums, all work must be ready to hang on the wall. Paintings, photographs, mixed media works, and masks are examples of mediums we will be accepting. Pedestal pieces cannot be accepted this year.

Entries for this exhibit will be accepted from Vanderbilt faculty/staff and members of their immediate family. Artists may submit up to three (3) works. There is no juror’s fee.

The exhibit will take place in the Sarratt Gallery and in the ACE gallery area, both located in Sarratt Student Center.

Important Dates:

October 1 – 3, (10:00 am – 7:00 pm): Vanderbilt artists deliver work to be juried to Sarratt Art Studios, Sarratt Room 123. Artists will complete application/ID forms upon delivery. There is no juror’s fee.

October 9: Artists submitting work will be notified by email as to what works are accepted or not accepted in to the exhibit..

October 9 – 11, (10:00am – 7:00 pm): Work that is not being exhibited must be picked up from Sarratt Art studios in this time period. We will not be responsible for unaccepted works after this date.
