The Data Science Institute (DSI) at Vanderbilt University hires staff data scientists who will be a core part of the institute’s research activities. Key responsibilities include

  • Engaging with researchers across campus to promote the research services of the institute. Participating in scientific teams that will help researchers maximize the potential of their data. Projects can be short term or long term.
  • Contributing to the DSI’s educational mission by assisting with the teaching of training modules for the Vanderbilt community, assisting faculty in training data science Masters students, and mentoring students in research projects.
  • Engaging with industry, government, and the non-profit sector.

DSI data scientists will also have some freedom to pursue their own projects. The ideal candidates will have extensive technical expertise in data science, academic or industry experience, and have excellent communication skills.
