Beliefs and Behaviors During COVID-19 (DSI-SRP)

Posted by on Saturday, August 1, 2020 in College of Arts and Science, Completed Research, DSI-SRP, Natural and Life Sciences.

This DSI-SRP fellowship funded Reena Zhang to work in the laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Trueblood in the Department of Psychology during the summer of 2020. Reena anticipates graduating in May 2022 with majors in Psychology and Computer Science.

Under Dr. Jennifer Trueblood, Reena Zhang and Claire Hanson (another DSI-SRP recipient) used statistical modeling with data from a large scale, nationally representative, cross-sectional study to quantify and investigate the links between a number of important social and psychological variables, people’s predictions and perceptions about the risk of contracting Covid-19, and their change of behavior. Currently, Reena and Claire have been leading efforts to clean the survey data and make in publicly accessible through a dedicated website with visualizations of the key measures.

In addition to receiving support through a DSI-SRP fellowship, this project was supported and facilitated by the DSI Data Science Team through their regular summer workshops and demo sessions.
