Tennesseans for the Arts & Book Club Discussion

The Curb Scholars joined Creative Consultant, Amy Ruggaber, from Tennesseans for the Arts, on a Skype call to discuss the 2020 Arts Advocacy Day and how to utilize a quantitative fact and a “fuzzy”, a type of anecdote that will resonate when advocating. Amy discussed how funding for the arts works, how the state specialty license plates generates substantial public arts funding, and how to advocate to keep the license plates funds for the arts. Amy shared her own career path and spoke to why she decided to start her own arts business. At the conclusion of the meeting the scholars participated in their quarterly book club and discussed the interesting twist to, and the progression arc of Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro The scholars are off for a much needed Spring Break with meetings resuming March 9th.
