One Drop Ink Tattoo Studio

Posted by on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in .

Upon returning from a week off for spring break our Curb Scholars visited One Drop Ink Tattoo Studio and met owner and artist Elisheba Mrozik. The scholars received a tour of her studio, which is part of the Jefferson Street Art Crawl so the community can view the vibrant local work displayed on the studio’s walls.  Elisheba earned a fine arts degree but was inspired to become a tattoo artist after seeing ink which resembled a painting. She also discussed what drove her to start and run her own business. The scholars had an opportunity to design a tattoo, with Riley Beal volunteering to get a tattoo of Snorlax. The scholars went to work designing the pattern with Riley choosing fellow scholar Susanna Harpold’s design. Elisheba enhanced the winning design by adding features to make the tattoo unique. After signing a consent form, Elisheba gave Riley a piece of art and memory of a Curb Scholar experience that he will carry with him forever.

Unfortunately, due to concerns of COVID-19 this will most likely be our last in-person Curb Scholar meeting for the 2019-2020 academic year. However the outcome of our meeting status, this workshop will definitely be a memorable one!
