Book Club Begins!

Posted by on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in .

To celebrate the end of the semester, the Scholars got together for some pizza, ice cream, and the first discussion of the newly founded Curb Scholar Book Club.  Tonight’s topic: David Foster Wallace’s essay, “Some Remarks on Kafka’s Funniness from which Probably Not Enough Has Been Removed.”  Conversation started there, then, as conversations do, wandered off to a number of new topics — like how to attack the next book up for discussion: S by J.J. Abrams and Dough Dorst.  As you can see from the picture below, this is not as it’s straightforward a book as you might think.
