Loneliness Intervention Through Music
Laura conducted an 8-week choral singing intervention for loneliness and illness related symptoms in participants with schizophrenia at the Park Center for Mental Rehabilitation.
Laura works primarily on schizophrenia research, under the mentorship of Dr. Sohee Park. Her research focuses on social cognition in schizophrenia, broadly, with an emphasis on the detriments of social isolation and loneliness on perception, well-being and social function across populations. Her Curb Scholar project saw Laura conducting an 8-week choral singing intervention targeting loneliness and illness related symptoms in schizophrenic patients at Park Center for Mental Rehabilitation, in Nashville, TN.
