Adam Merki received his BM in Professional Music and Performance from Berklee College of Music in 2012 and MA in German Studies from California State University, Long Beach in 2015, where he taught beginning German language courses.  During the 2015-2016 academic year, he worked as an English Teaching Assistant in Salzburg, Austria through the Austrian American Educational Commission. Adam joined the German Studies Graduate program at Vanderbilt University in 2016 and the Comparative Media Analysis and Practice dual PhD program in 2017.  His interest include early 20th century synesthetic and perception theories and modern media studies.
