Jennifer Ufnar, Ph.D.
Director, Day of Discovery, Scientist in the Classroom Partnership, Interdisciplinary Science and Research, and Resident Scientist
 
Dr. Ufnar is the director of the Day of Discovery, the Scientist in the Classroom Partnership, the Interdisciplinary Science and Research, and the Resident Scientist Programs in the Center for Science Outreach at Vanderbilt University. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology, and has over a decade of experience in teaching at the K-16 level and implementing and directing programs in the science education arena.

Clayton CoffmanPh.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow
University of Missouri - Plant Sciences

Clayton studied plant molecular biology at the University of Arkansas before going on to his graduate studies at Penn State and the University of Missouri. In graduate school, Clayton developed a passion for teaching, specifically bringing authentic scientific research into the classroom. After finishing his Ph.D. in Plant, Insect, and Microbial Science, Clayton joined the Center for Science Outreach as an instructor for the Day of Discovery program on the Vanderbilt campus.

Desmond Campbell, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow
Ph.D., Vanderbilt University – Physics 

Desmond serves as a co-instructor for the Day of Discovery program along with Dr. Clayton Coffman. He utilizes his knowledge of physics, medical imaging, and instrumentation to immerse middle school students from JT Moore, Rose Park, and West End in research-based STEM activities and demonstrations.
