Marathi is spoken in west central India, in an area that linguistically borders Telegu. It is the fifteenth most spoken language in the world, with more speakers than languages such as Italian, Polish or Persian. It is written with the Devanagari (Hindi) or Modi scripts. It is also spoken by the Bene Isreal community, Indian Jews, now living in the Beersheba area of said country.
