While Korean is the official language of both North and South Korea, it is also spoken as the principal language in areas of China (PRC) and Russia (more than 200,000 speakers). There are approximately 78 million speakers of this language, worldwide. The script used to write Korean is called Hangul, this being used to render only one other language in the world, Cia-Cia, a totally unrelated tongue spoken in thousands of miles away in Indonesia.
