New VU resource for protein expression

Posted by on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in News.

A facility for the production of soluble and membrane-bound eukaryotic proteins in insect and mammalian cells is now accessible to Vanderbilt research labs. The facility is part of the Program in the Molecular Basis of Genetic Diseases and is headed by Hassane Mchaourab, professor of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics.

Services include consultation on feasibility, optimum expression and purification strategies and pilot experiments at the facility, if the project is deemed feasible. Access to the facility is free to test out pilot projects, with labs only expected to cover the costs for large-scale expressions. If interested, please contact Brinda Selvaraj to initiate a request.
