July 20, 2020 – Fall semester 2020 COVID-19 Acknowledgement for Remote-only Undergraduate Students

Posted by on Monday, July 20, 2020 in Community Messages.

Dear Students,

Although you have elected remote-only instruction for the fall 2020 semester, you remain an important part of the Vanderbilt University community. Because you may have questions about what is happening on campus, and because you may be engaged in experiential learning activities—such as an internship, externship, clinical placement, or other activity in your local community—as part of your educational program this fall, all undergraduate students, including those who have elected remote-only instruction, must complete the COVID-19 Return to Campus Acknowledgment for Undergraduate Students.

The Acknowledgment explains the university’s guiding principles and related plans associated with the return to campus, describes certain guidelines and protocols you will be required to follow in connection with any experiential learning activities, and requests you to confirm that you will cooperate to protect the health and safety of others. As a student who has selected remote-only instruction, the Acknowledgment requires you to affirm and agree that you will not come to campus during the semester. Please note that subsequent portions of the Acknowledgment module regarding on-campus and in-person protocols generally will apply only to remote-only instruction students who are engaged in experiential learning activities that occur in person in their local communities. At the conclusion of the module, you will be asked to acknowledge that you agree to follow all applicable Vanderbilt University guidelines related to reducing the spread of COVID-19 infection. This must be completed in Oracle Cloud by August 7.

Please open and review the instructions for logging into Oracle Cloud and accessing and completing the module, and then open and complete your COVID-19 Return to Campus Acknowledgment for Undergraduate Students course in Oracle Learning.

To keep all members of our university community safe and informed, it is important for the university to have your current contact information, including mobile phone number, as well as the information for your emergency contact person. To update your mobile phone and emergency contact information, please access the Personal Information application in YES. You can refer to the online user guide for instructions on how to update your contact information. Providing these details will assist the university in providing the most timely information to both you and your emergency contact as may be needed.

If you have not completed your Acknowledgement by August 7, a registration hold will be placed on your record prohibiting any further schedule adjustments until the Acknowledgment is complete. Any student who has not completed the Acknowledgment form prior to the start of the fall term on August 24 will have their registration for the Fall 2020 semester canceled. Please complete your Acknowledgement and provide your up-to-date personal and emergency contact information as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or need additional information or assistance, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students at deanofstudents@vanderbilt.edu.

Best wishes,

Office of the University Registrar
