NSSI provides Vanderbilt students a hands-on experience, and the responsibilities tasked to counselors greatly enhance one’s skills for an array of professions. The counselors receive training and support from Next Steps staff. Contact John Cayton at john.b.cayton@vanderbilt.edu for more information.
Next Steps at Vanderbilt Summer Institute is a college transition program for rising high school juniors, seniors, and young adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities from age 17 up to the age of 25. This is a week-long residential program that will provide exposure to postsecondary education. Students will be given the opportunity to experience a college campus and to develop a broader understanding of the Next Steps at Vanderbilt postsecondary education program and other similar programs across the country.
