The Arts Camps

All classes provide online access to Kindermusik@Home for enrolled families. Kindermusik classes are 45-minute sessions. The semester is 15 weeks, beginning January 8-9. All classes meet in Blair Room 1197.

Tuition: $460 per family, for all classes

Ages: Multi-age. Designed for families with two children, ages infant and up; one-child families may also enroll. Each week you'll discover how music helps your family laugh, share, and take turns. In the multi-age class, explore musical and developmental learning in a fun, family environment!

Wednesdays – 9:00 - 9:45

Ages: Infant - 12 months, with a parent/caregiver. Designed for new parents and their babies. Leave the world at the door, and enter the wonder of music. You'll receive expert advice and parenting resources based on recent research in baby development. Experience the joy, learning, and community only Kindermusik can provide. New moms and dads, please join us!

Ages: 12-24 months, with a parent/caregiver. It's a musical celebration of new movement and language skills! A mix of parent-child joint activities and child-focused activities provides parents the opportunity to participate in all the music and movement fun, and also to stand back, observe, and revel in how these children are beginning to walk, talk, sing, play, clap, tap, and dance - on their own!

OUR TIME  $460
Ages: 24 - 36 months with parent or caregiver. Our Time balances movement, singing, chanting, listening, and playing simple instruments in a secure, loving environment with each child's "grown-up" close at hand. Children develop pitch, rhythm, and listening skills while learning songs, chants, and stories.

Ages 3-5; adults join the last 15 minutes. Designed for active, enthusiastic, and imaginative children. Encourages vocal development, nurtures a child's ability to think musically, and gives children the opportunity to explore sound with instruments

 2020  Summer Youth Art Institute

Sarratt Youth Art Institute (SYAI) will tour the globe with our theme “A Wonderful World of Art”.  Each day of the week is a new opportunity to explore the art and cultures of the major continents and regions around the world. Grades K – 6  will use clay, metals, fibers, paint, photography, paper and other materials to create their own versions of art that are based on traditions and influences that have been passed down for years in these various countries and regions.

Grades 7 – 10 will have focused lessons on specific art mediums and we’ve listed the studio techniques below on our schedule. Techniques taught to grades 7 – 10: Pottery involves creating objects from clay on the potter’s wheel and by hand; Fused Glass is the process of cutting and designing pieces of glass and then fusing to to a base layer of glass qhuc =h make tiles, small bowls, and jewelry; Jewelry techniques involve cutting, sawing, piercing, texturing sheets of copper as well as wire and bead techniques to create jewelry; Fiber Arts is a “catch all” category of weaving, quilting, knitting, paper making, books arts, printing techniques and more. We typically  focus on tapestry weaving, tying and dyeing fabric, paper making and book arts; Mixed Media Photography involves learning about black and white film photography to print images in the dark room that are then incorporated in to works that involve paint, collages drawing, and printing techniques.

Tuition for summer 2020 is $280.00 per child per week. This cost includes art instruction and all supplies.   Receive a $40.00 Early Bird discount by registering between February 3 and April 1. No code is required.

Registration will open on Monday February 3, 2020. Please register your child for the grade level that they will be entering in Fall 2020. Registration can now be done from this page by selecting the week you’d like and choosing the appropriate grade level. Returning parents, you’ll be able to use your child;’s account from the past summer. New parents will create an account for their child during the registration process. Please note = this system does not allow for family accounts. Instead, each child will need their own account in the system.

SYAI class hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am – 4:00pm

Week Seven – July 20 – 24 Grades K-and Grades 4 – 6 Grades 7 – 10 Mixed Media Photography/Pottery

Week Eight  July 27 – 31 Grades K-3 Grades 4 – 6 Grades 7 – 10 Fused Glass/Pottery

Arrival time is from 8:30 am to 8:55 am.  Pick up time is from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm. We are not able to offer Before and After Care in this program. Information about drop off and pick up location will be sent in an email about two weeks prior to each week.

Please note that lunch and snacks are not provided in the tuition rates. Children must bring their own food and drinks.
