The Arts Camps

A curriculum designed for everyone!   Engaging for the youngest child yet challenging for the preschooler.  Musical and developmental learning in a fun environment!  One child or two…, dad, nanny or grandparent…..all are welcome!  Tuition is priced per family.
Ages:   Multi-age with parent or caregiver.
Wednesdays – 9:00 - 9:45

It’s a joyful first Kindermusik experience!  Parents and caregivers enjoy a special bonding time as they dance, play instruments and explore with their newborn, infant or crawler.  Experience the joy of incorporating music with your baby to jumpstart earliest learning.  Join a community only Kindermusik can provide.
Ages: Infant –1 year with parent or caregiver
Wednesdays   12:45 - 1:30

It’s a musical celebration of new movement and language skills!  This age group is “on the go”.  A mix of adult-child activities provide parents a unique opportunity to participate in the music and movement fun, but also to stand back, observe and revel in how these older babies and toddlers are walking, talking, singing, playing, clapping, tapping and dancing – all on their own as they enjoy their new independence.
Ages:  1 - 2 with a parent or caregiver
Thursdays  4:00 – 4:45 p.m. or Wednesdays 11:30 – 12:15 p.m.

Children love singing, moving, and playing with Mom, Dad, or a caregiver while diving into lessons filled with sights and sounds from the beach.  Ripe with pretend play, this class is filled with delight and surprise. Put on your beach clothes and join Ms. Amy for a musical seaside adventure!
Ages 18 months to 3
Wednesdays 10:15 - 11:00 a.m. or Thursdays  6:00 – 6:45

Just say the word drum and any child within earshot will be ready to play. Children love to drum on just about anything, and drums can be found in every culture.  Children will sing, clap and play to a variety of songs and games. Moving, dancing with scarves, and playing a variety of percussion instruments will delight   Each class will feature a guest professional drummer.
Ages 3.5 to 5

Summer Youth Art Institute

Children of all ages love the chance to be creative at the Sarratt Youth Art Institute! There is a lot of fun and learning as children explore clay, painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, textile arts, while making new friends and learning about the wonderful world of art. Voted Best Kids Camp of Nashville 2012 in the Nashville Scene’s readers poll, we’re looking forward to another busy and exciting summer of art in 2018.

For Summer 2019, SYAI will touring the globe with our theme “A Wonderful World of Art”.  Through  art we will travel the world to explore the art and cultures of the major continents and regions around the world.. Ages 5- 6 and 7 – 11  will use clay, metals, fibers, paint, photography, paper and more materials to create their own versions of art that are based on traditions and influences that have been passed down for years in these various countries and regions. Ages 12 – 16 will have focused lessons on particular mediums and we’ve listed the studio techniques below on our schedule.

We use the following groups for registration: Ages 5 and 6 (entering Kindergarten or First Grade in the Fall), ages 7 – 11 (entering 2nd grade through 6th grade in the Fall) and ages 12 – 16 (entering grades 7 through 10 in the Fall). We will then divide them in to appropriate age groups of 10 – 12 children based on enrollment.

Tuition for summer 2019 is $280.00 per child per week. This cost includes art instruction and all supplies.   Receive a $40.00 Early Bird discount by registering between February 1 and April 1. No code is required.

Returning Parents: Simply log in to the registration system with your child’s users name and password.

New Parents: You will create an account in our on line registrations system for each child that will be attending Youth Art. this system does not allow for family accounts.

Arrival time is from 8:30am to 8:55am.  Pick up time is from 4:00pm to 4:30pm.     
We are not able to offer Before and After Care in this program.

Please note that lunch and snacks are not provided in the tuition rates. Children must bring their own food and drinks.
