Vanderbilt undergraduate chemistry major lands an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for 2012-2015

Vanessa Arredondo (Vanderbilt Class of 2012) was recently awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for 2012-2015 to pursue doctoral studies in chemistry. In addition to her coursework as a chemisty major, she has accrued several undergraduate research experiences, including an NSF REU at Georgia Tech (summer 2011 with Prof. Stefan France), and at Vanderbilt with Prof. Craig Lindsley and, most recently, with Prof. Jeff Johnston. The NSF Predoctoral Fellowships are widely regarded as the most prestigious award a student can earn as s/he begins postgraduate training in the physical or mathematical sciences.
