Vanderbilt will serve as the host campus for the Clinton Global Initiative University annual meeting on March 3-5, 2023. The gathering is an opportunity for students from around the world to collaborate with influential leaders, experts and innovators on solving humanity’s most pressing problems.

About Clinton Global Initiative University

Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) is a dynamic community of young leaders committed to developing innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges.

Each year, undergraduate and graduate students from around the world apply to participate in CGI U's year-round community of learning, leadership and action.

This year-round engagement includes: a social impact curriculum, training and mentorship opportunities and a wide range of networking opportunities with CGI U partners, peers, alumni, staff and leaders in the field.

The annual CGI U cohort will meet in person and hold its annual meeting at Vanderbilt University on March 3-5, 2023. 

Since President Clinton founded CGI U in 2007, more than 11,800 students from over 1800 schools, over 160 countries, and all 50 states have participated. Their efforts have culminated in more than 8,400 Commitments to Action.

Schedule

Vanderbilt will be live-streaming many of the sessions to provide access to the community to participate in the event virtually. Mark your calendars and return to the site March 3-5 to join. The following types of sessions will be accessible to all:

  • Plenary Sessions: CGI U’s largest sessions featuring President Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Dr. Chelsea Clinton that highlight key themes of the annual meeting and a broad range of topics, such as freedom of expression around the world to the power of big data.
  • Breakout Sessions: These smaller sessions provide students with the opportunity to hear from topic experts in CGI U’s five focus areas and the chance to engage with fellow students in order to hone in on the skills needed to develop their commitment.
