Vanderbilt graduates go everywhere and your career is not necessarily tied to your major. For example, English majors may find themselves in the music industry, and engineering majors may find themselves on Wall Street. By working with a career coach students can explore their interests in various fields, learn how to tell the story of their education and experience, and apply to work in whatever field of employment interests them.

Start mapping out your future by meeting with one of the professional career coaches either during walk-in hours or by scheduling an appointment. You can schedule your online appointment by going to DoreWays or calling the Career Center (615) 322-2750. The career coach will help you map out a plan for whatever career field you’re interested in. And if you don’t know what you’re interested in, we’ll help with that too!

All of the coaches in the Career Center are trained on the Wise Wanderings System, a career development system created by Dr. Kate Brooks, the Evans Family Executive Director of the Career Center here at Vanderbilt. Dr. Brooks developed her system after years of working with college students at several institutions across the country.  She recently authored a new edition of the book she published the system in: You Majored in What? Designing Your Path from College to Career.
