A red exclamation point next to a particular score indicates that Perusall was not able to sync that score back with Brightspace. In other words, you will not see this score in the Brightspace gradebook.

To sync the score back to Brightspace, launch your Perusall assignment within Brightspace. This should cause the exclamation mark to disappear.
