Aditya V. Karhade
Student, MD/MBA at Harvard University
Aditya “Ditty” Karhade graduated from Vanderbilt in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and neuroscience. He is currently pursuing an MD from Harvard Medical School and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
While a Vanderbilt student, Mr. Karhade served as a research assistant in Vanderbilt’s Laboratory for Biotechnology and Nanomedicine, in Functional Neurosurgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and at the Mayo Clinic in the summer of 2013. In summer 2014, he was a research fellow at the University of Leipzig, Germany. While a student, Mr. Karhade also participated in the Multicultural Leadership Council, Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science, Alternative Spring Break, and Vanderbilt Engineering World Health. In 2011, he founded BhangraDores, a South Asian dance troupe that specializes in Bhangra, a form of Indian music and dance that dates to the 11th century. Mr. Karhade was a member of the undergraduate Honor Council, the Engineering Honor Society Tau Beta Pi, and was a peer mentor for VUcept.
Mr. Karhade was elected as Vanderbilt’s first Young Alumni Leader in April 2015. He began by serving a three-year term on the Vanderbilt Alumni Association Board in July 2015. He is currently serving a two-year term on the Board of Trust. He is a CoRPs volunteer, a GOLD Class Agent, a Senior Class Fund volunteer, and a Giving Day Ambassador.
Mr. Karhade and his wife Deepti reside in Boston, MA.
