The latest FCAI Salon Series recording is now available: The Educational Experience of Autistic Girls, featuring Dr. Brittney L. Goscicki (Lecturer, Department of Special Education, Vanderbilt University). You can find the recording on the FCAI YouTube, our website, or embedded below.
In this session, Dr. Goscicki shares research and practical insights on the educational experiences of autistic girls, including why this group is often underrecognized in traditional diagnostic and school frameworks. The conversation explores camouflaging and masking, and their implications for identification, well-being, and learning in school settings. The session also highlights strategies for neuro-affirming support in educational environments.
We are especially grateful to Dr. Olivia A. Greene for her participation as a self-advocate. Her reflections and perspectives helped ground the discussion in lived experience.
