College Inclusion Summit reveals program highlights
The College Autism Network (CAN) has announced several of the highlights of its upcoming Inclusion Summit in Nashville, TN. The Summit brings together scholars, practitioners, administrators, and self-advocates to discuss evidence-driven strategies to support college students with autism and other learning differences.
On the first day of the Summit, Oct. 23, at 4:30 p.m., there will be a special screening of Autism Goes to College. This important new film is the work of College Autism Network partner UC-Riverside.
Moreover, the conference will feature 30 presenters, a preconference workshop on starting and strengthening programs, an opening address by Jane Thierfeld Brown and three expert panel discussions on utilizing research, employment and campus success.
The CAN has released a small sample of the programs that will fill the Summit agenda.

– “Student Voices: What College Students on the Autism Spectrum Can Teach Us”
The many additional programs will cover transitions to and from college, peer support, health and well-being, best program practices and technology.
The College Inclusion Summit provides a chance to connect with a network of colleagues who understand and share a passion for supporting and empowering autistic people, and particularly autistic young adults in college. It will take place Oct. 23-25 at Vanderbilt University, and is being hosted by the Frist Center. Summit registration and hotel reservations are open for anyone interested in attending.
