“Every four years the Vanderbilt Department of Art hosts an exhibition showcasing work from their faculty and staff. The 2019 show brings together 14 artists whose work encompasses a number of contemporary conversations and approaches. The range of practices represented in the exhibition demonstrates the department’s commitment to providing Vanderbilt students access to experts in a multitude of concepts and formats. Employing strong technical skills and evoking complex ideas prove to be major motivations of the art department’s faculty and staff.

The exhibition in Space 204 offers a range of media to consider. Specialists in printmaking, photography, film, ceramics, painting, installations, performance, interdisciplinary art, work on paper, and sculpture, the artists push boundaries with innovations within their chosen mediums. “
