Mexico City: Art and Architecture

October 15–20, 2022

Special guests or host TBD

Indulge in the wonderful art and architecture that México City has to offer on this six-day adventure. México City has a long and storied history of providing home and inspiration to artists, perhaps most notably during the inter-war period when Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera were arguably the reigning queen and king of the scene.

Optional pre-trip extension in México City available. Arrive a day early in Mexico. Guided visit to Chapultepec; Casa Luis Barrangan, the Mexican modernist architect’s house, studio and art collection; Fountain of Tláloc by Diego Rivera, a massive tiled sculpture of the god of Rain; Casa Estudio Diego Rivera; and a visit to Fonart that offers sophisticated and high quality handicrafts.

Optional post-trip extension to visit San Miguel de Allende available. A truely lovely colonial city located in Mexico’s central highlands and known for its thriving art scene. On the way, tour Guanajuato, one of the most beautiful cities in México, proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO known for its silver mining and colonial architecture.
