3/19/2018: Easy as Pi: A General Overview of ACCRE, Vanderbilt’s High-Performance Computing Center with Dan Burger
Dan Burger, who is an Associate Application Developer at ACCRE and the Department of Physics & Astronomy, will be presenting. Dan’s abstract for the seminar is shown below.
Since joining ACCRE a year ago, many people have told me that they would like to use ACCRE but find it difficult to use. Others were unaware that it exists in the first place! In this talk I will give a general overview of ACCRE, including its history, advantages, how it works, and how it is useful for research in a wide variety of fields. In addition, I will go over the new website for ACCRE and give a live demonstration on how to use it to calculate one million digits of pi. Feel free to invite undergraduates, friends, and anyone who’s interested in supercomputing. No technical skills necessary!
