Periodicity

The periodic table is an arrangement of the elements based upon their atomic masses.  The chemical and physical properties of these elements are periodic functions of their atomic masses (periodic law).  The periodic table can be described in terms of groups and periods.  Groups represent elements which are found in the same column of the periodic table.  Periods represent elements which are found in the same row of the periodic table.
