Young Scholars in Writing

Young Scholars in Writing: Undergraduate Research in Writing and Rhetoric is a refereed journal dedicated to publishing research articles written by undergraduates in a wide variety of disciplines associated with rhetoric and writing. It is guided by these central beliefs: (1) that research can and should be a crucial component of rhetorical education and (2) that undergraduates engaged in research about writing and rhetoric should have opportunities to share their work with a broader audience of students, scholars, and teachers through national publication. Young Scholars in Writing is intended to be a resource for students engaged in undergraduate research and for scholars who are interested in new advances or theories relating to language, composition, rhetoric, and related fields.

Young Scholars in Writing is funded by Pennsylvania State University, Berks-Lehigh Valley College.

The Pittsburgh Undergraduate Review

The purpose of the Pittsburgh Undergraduate Review is to advance innovative undergraduate scholarship. The PUR aims to bring research to the forefront of undergraduate awareness. By presenting provocative ideas, the PUR catalyzes further intellectual innovations and pursuits, thereby energizing the academic community.

To accomplish these goals, the PUR showcases the best available undergraduate research. This is achieved by publishing indiscriminately with regards to location and discipline; the PUR is a multidisciplinary journal that accepts papers from around the world. In turn, hardcopies of the journal are distributed nation-wide, and the published papers are available via the journal’s website.

Aporia

Aporia accepts submissions from students at any college or university. Issues tend to center on a common theme that varies from publication to publication, but thoughtful submissions on any philosophical topic are welcome.

Aporia, in one way or another, has been active on Dartmouth College campus since the 1970's. It started out predominantly as a showcase journal for the very best among student philosophy papers at Dartmouth. In 2001, the journal began to host weekly discussion philosophy lunches called "Tabula-Rasa." That discussion group has since developed its own leadership and is now a separate, but closely related, organization.

In 2005, students decided to experiment with expanding the journal. They upgraded the format in which the journal was published from in-house production to contracted professional printing, and published three issues in that year. The following year submissions were opened to colleges and universities across the nation; Aporia is now in the process of establishing itself as a premier showcase of undergraduate philosophy.

The Michigan Journal of Political Science

The Michigan Journal of Political Science accepts submissions from undergraduate students attending accredited universities worldwide. (The Journal does accept submissions from graduate students; however, these papers must have been written as an undergraduate). Articles of all viewpoints are welcomed and evaluated based upon academic merit.

While the Editorial Board carefully considers the content in each submitted article, authors remain solely responsible for the accuracy of the facts presented. Submissions must be the original work of the author and sent from the author's originating mail server. The opinions expressed in any given article do not necessarily reflect those of the Editorial Board of the Michigan Journal of Political Science.
