On Writing: Writing for Academic and Popular Audiences

Writing for academic audiences and popular audiences each present their own challenges.  This semester, On Writing  will feature a panel discussion with three Vanderbilt Professors who have taken on both sets of challenges.  Dana Nelson is Gertrude Conaway Professor of English and American Studies.  Bruce Barry is Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Professor of Management and Professor of Sociology.  Lisa Guenther is Associate Professor of Philosophy.

*ON WRITING is free and open to the public. We especially welcome to this event graduate students and junior faculty.

Fall 2012

On Writing: Journal Article Writing
Thursday, September 20
4:15pm, Black Cultural Center Auditorium

This semester, On Writing will feature a panel discussion on Journal Article writing with three Vanderbilt professors and journal editors. Larry W. Isaac is Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor of Sociology and editor of American Sociological Review. Robert Barsky is Professor of French and Comparative Literature and editor of AmeriQuests. Jeffrey Tlumak is Associate Professor of Philosophy and was until recently the editor of History of Philosophy Quarterly.

*ON WRITING is free and open to the public. We especially welcome to this event graduate students and junior faculty who are or who will soon be in the process of writing journal articles.
