GRADUATE WRITING FELLOW
The Writing Studio will hire one advanced Peabody graduate student to serve as a Graduate Writing Fellow. The Fellow not only holds 15 hours per week of one-to-one appointments with graduate and undergraduate students, but also organizes writing workshops and various other educational programs. Because the Writing Studio serves writers from all campus departments and programs, graduate students who are comfortable working with writers across the social sciences are especially encouraged to apply.
In addition to gaining unique teaching experience, the fellow will receive a stipend commensurate with stipends in his or her home department, along with health insurance and $200 per semester minimum tuition.
The Peabody Writing Fellowship is a nine-month post. Fellows in good standing will have priority for additional employment at the Studio during summer months.
Interested candidates must provide:
(1) a statement from a departmental Director of Graduate Studies verifying availability for employment in the Writing Studio,
(2) a letter of recommendation from an adviser or other faculty member,
(3) a curriculum vitae,
(4) a letter demonstrating specific interest in and dedication to the teaching and coaching of writing, as well as
(5) a writing sample of no more than 20 pages.
Applications can be submitted by hand to the Writing Studio (Calhoun Hall 007) or via e-mail at email@example.com. Applicants who wish to be considered for both the Graduate Writing Fellow and Graduate Writing Consultant positions should indicate as much in their letters. If submitting applications via email please combine all required documents into one PDF or Word file.
Submission Deadline: Friday, March 1
