Spring into Fitness

Spring into Fitness is a similar program to Fall into Fitness, but is offered in the Spring. Spring into Fitness is intended for anyone who would like to learn more about what is available at the Rec. Center. The program will encourage participants to try out all the different activities available, as well as focusing on physical and mental wellness. Participants can either be individuals or in a team. They total points by attending activities. Winners from each category receive gift certificates to Green Hills Mall. Learn more.

Summer Shape Up

Summer Shape-Up is an incentive program for summer Graduate/Undergraduate students. The program runs 4 weeks in June. Participants are required to perform and log fitness and wellness activities each week. Participants completing the program receive a Wellness Resource Center Gift.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp is an INTENSE conditioning class that incorporates a full body workout using cardio, strength, endurance, and stretching exercises. Participants must sign up in advance due to the limited enrollment allowed for this class. Contact the Wellness Resource Center at 343-6073 to reserve your spot.

Fall into Fitness

Fall into Fitness is an incentive program put on by the WRC every fall. The purpose is to introduce SRC members to the variety of activities offered in the SRC and encourage healthy exercising. The program focuses on physical fitness and wellness. Participants who finish the program receive a cool prize!

Wellness Bash

The Wellness Bash is an annual fair-type event held in the Student Recreation Center (SRC). The WRC invites different wellness-related groups and companies to come and demonstrate their services. Some of the services previously involved with the Bash have been Angelic Touch Massage, Vanderbilt Sports Medicine, Vanderbilt Student Health, Margaret Cunningham Women's Center. There are also lots of giveaways from local companies. For 2007, the Bash was held on Wednesday, October 31st, from 3-7pm.

Monthly Programs

The WRC has specific topics of focus each month. Informational bulletin boards are posted in the hallway of the Rec. In addition to bulletin boards, videos in the hall, brochures, handouts, and screenings may also be available on the specified topic.
